What is the best convertible laptop/notebook?

I’m looking for something next to a touch screen for assured access to pull down menus and such, also requests to have a long battery-operated life and at most minuscule semi-rugged for use outdoors. Any suggestions?

Answer:

Your touch screen requirement precincts you to mostly the tablet-style laptops, few if any standard laptops have touch screen.

If your looking for a true rugged laptop that's field set, look at the Panasonic line of toughbooks

For a smaller quantity rugged but equally well built tablets consider LEnovo (formerly IBM) ..

budge with acb29's answer.
IBM/Lenovo have gotten the best reviews for their tablets, followed by Motion Computing. Tablets is all that Motion produces.
