What is the difference between a laptop and tablet workstation.What are the pro and cons of both.?

Which should i shift for.I dont like gaming.Programming,web,chat.Ma... are going to be my chief use.Please explain more on tablet pc..And how something like an apple laptop that runs both windows and mac
