Sony VAIO have 13.3 high wind up laptops but they are a little expensive.

I would stir with HP 12 TX1000 series.

That is going to be my subsequent computer as well. They look awesome and the stub model starts from $1100.

Spend a little extra $$ and put in the tablet feature so you can procure a 12 HP tablet PC in something like $1150 !!

Definitely a Mac.... Although it's $1099, the 13 inch Macbook is worth it.... Mac does great things near its computers and you'd be surprised by how much power it holds.
