.Mac is Apple's award victorious suite of internet tools. It has e-mail, personal webpage, iDisk (a remote storage disk that can be access by any computer), a .Mac screen moniker, an Apple ID, iCards, iCal syncing. It is all for 100 bucks for a year. MAC address:

Every piece of Ethernet hardware has a creative number assigned to it called it's MAC address. Remember that Ethernet is used locally to connect you to the Internet, and you share the local net with masses other people. The MAC address is used by your local Internet router within order to direct your traffic to you a bit than somebody else in your local nouns. Key point: The MAC address is 6-bytes long, and must be unique. In demand to guarantee uniqueness, equipment vendor are assigned a unique 3-byte prefix, and they later assign their own 3-byte suffix. Thus, the first 3-bytes of a MAC address identifies what species of hardware you have (3Com, Cisco, Intel, etc.).
